1 EXT. THE METROPOLIS POLICE EVIDENCE WAREHOUSE - DAY #1 1
A chain-link fence. Rusted sign: "Metropolis Police
Evidence Warehouse." The gate is open. A busted padlock.
The warehouse in the b.g. An OLD DUFFER SECURITY GUARD
approaches the busted lock and studies it through his
half-glasses. Now this is mighty peculiar.

2 INT. EVIDENCE WAREHOUSE - DAY 2 2
Gloom. Steel-grated evidence lockups. HERKIMER JOHNSON
approaches. He's dressed in an ill-fitting rented cop
uniform. His face is vulpine, twitchy. Herkimer stops at a
lockup containing an array of mechanically bizarre and
twisted toys. A label on the door: "BAD BRAIN (RUFUS)
JOHNSON - DECEASED." A hand-written note has been taped to
the door: "HOLD FOR THE MUSEUM OF CRIME."
HERKIMER
Museum of Crime. I think not.
Psycho nutbag poseur!
He crumples the note and places a small, metal box (dial,
buttons, LEDs) over the lockup's deadbolt, pokes a button
and we HEAR A METALLIC BANG. We see the deadbolt (X)
mechanism, bent and twisted, fall to the lockup floor. (X)
Herkimer removes the device revealing a hole in the door (X)
where the lock used to be. (X)
He pushes open the door and withdraws a small (X)
thermos-shaped explosive device from his shirt.
A DOOR SLAMS somewhere. Herkimer freezes.

4 INT. DR. DETER'S OFFICE - DAY 4
SUPERMAN, standing firm, hotly questions DETER who navigates
the interrogation with charm.
DETER
It's just a very long tunnel. Your (X)
friend Mr. Kent needs to relax. (X)
Would he like me to prescribe him
something?
SUPERMAN
No. Clark understands this will
take time. But you can appreciate
his anxiety. The woman he loves
says she's in love with you.
DETER
Superman, do you know what (X)
transference is? (X)
SUPERMAN

DETER
Very good. You've had some (X)
therapy, I take it? (X)
(off Superman's growing (X)

Anyway, we have a classic case of (X)
transference happening here, added (X)
to which amnesiac patients are (X)
particularly vulnerable to seeing (X)
their doctors as saviors... (X)
SUPERMAN
Understood, but then you add in (X)
the fact that since she's been out (X)
of the hospital Clark's only seen (X)
her a total of sixty minutes... (X)
DETER
Because right now my method (X)
requires limited visitation.
(beat)
Superman, you know, I can't help (X)
but feel a little like Lex Luthor (X)

of, exactly?
SUPERMAN

Send her in, please.
LOIS enters through the office door. (X)
LOIS
Uh-oh. What's the trouble?
DETER
There's no trouble. Superman was
just expressing his concern over
Your well-being. I assured him
everything was going fine.
SUPERMAN
How are you?
LOIS
Ready to start work at the Planet
again. There's still a lot I (X)
don't remember. But the important
stuff's there, I think.
SUPERMAN
Good.
LOIS

my life, one memory at a time.

Glad to hear it.

51 INT. HERKIMER'S BASEMENT LAIR - DAY 51
The wall above the workbench is covered with sketches and (X)
blueprints for various devices. Some malevolent, some not (X)
so. We SEE Herkimer's jerking shadow scraping the wall as (X)
he works on something OUT OF FRAME. The SOUND of (X)
tinkering, ratchet wrenches, etc. (X)
HERKIMER
She's all mine now, Rufus. All (X)
mine. Nobody here to kick me down (X)
the stairs anymore. No more (X)
taking credit for my inventions. (X)
CAMERA PANS TO INCLUDE Herkimer working on the (X)

HERKIMER (CONT'D)
No more stealing my thunder just (X)

with your teeth.
The door at the top of the stairs is thrown open. We SEE a (X)
silhouette in the doorframe. (X)
ROWEENA (O.S.)
Herkimer?!
Herkimer skids to the bottom of the stairs, hands loaded (X)
with wires and electrical parts.
HERKIMER
Don't come down! It's not ready (X)
yet!
ROWEENA (O.S.)
I wouldn't come down there if you (X)
paid me. It stinks. Now what the
heck happened to my Mixmaster?!
The silhouette flings a kitchen mixer, already in pieces (X)
down the stairs at Herkimer.
HERKIMER
I needed a switch.

gnomes at the Fancy-Mart. Nobody!
Always taking advantage and ruining
my day. Everybody, except me, is (X)

HERKIMER
Everybody? (X)
ROWEENA
Everybody! I know what I'm talking

little old ladies.
HERKIMER
I listen.
ROWEENA (O.S.)
Because if you didn't I'd wait

DR. KLEIN
No dizziness when the wave hit? (X)
Confusion? (X)
LOIS
No. (X)
DR. KLEIN
You didn't find yourself prone to (X)

CLARK
At the same time the wave went (X)

LOIS
What was taken?
CLARK
Power amplifiers. And Superman (X)

Clark hands Dr. Klein the capacitor-coil.
DR. KLEIN

It numbs the brain, short-circuits
free will and transformed half (X)
the city into highly suggestible (X)

LOIS
Except me. I just remembered
things. Fragments. Clark, was I

CLARK
Definitely.

Is that all you remember?
LOIS
Everything else is a jumbled mess.

What have we got, people?
LOIS
A connection to Bad Brain.

We may have a copycat.

fireplace is a large, framed "Bad Brain" logo (the snarling

ROWEENA
Rufus didn't have any friends. (X)
Not a single little pal. He didn't (X)

and Perry and Deter (and everyone else in earshot of this (X)

73 LOIS'S MEMORY FLASHBACK #2 73
Another rapid fire psychedelic jumble of images from past
episodes. But no, along with shots of Lois in jeopardy, we
see something new: Superman! Quick dynamic shots of him
rescuing Lois, flying with her, deflecting bullets, crashing
through walls, dramatic entrances, heat-visioning, and
struggling against Kryptonite while _Lois saves him_.

The Vibro-Whammy is bedecked a huge red ribbon tied in
a big bow. Herkimer wears the Anti-Whammy helmet and an
ill-fitting tux. He's wiring the most recently stolen
electronic gear into the Vibro-Whammy's guts. The camcorder
on the tripod beside him records him. A second Anti-Whammy
helmet sits on the workbench beside him.
HERKIMER
(to the camcorder)
Here it is, Mom. The answer to (X)
your prayers. Ready for action.
And it's all yours.
He picks up the second helmet. It's labelled "Roweena".
HERKIMER (CONT'D)

sniveling idiots around you battle

ROWEENA (O.S.)
Who are you talking to?!
Herkimer scuttles around to see Roweena standing at the top

Wow, Doc, sounds like you really

Lois looks from Deter to Herkimer, who's just coming down

And what is that monstrosity?!
Herkimer hands Roweena her helmet and wields the
